The Noitamina website has officially confirmed that in addition to a second season of Psycho-Pass the anime, a film will also be produced by Production I.G. A combined trailer was screened on Friday’s Psycho-Pass screening event at Tokyo.
Mitsuhisa Ishikawa CEO of Production I.G acknowledged that a second season is in the works during this year’s Anime Expo in July at Los Angeles. He also hinted that there will be an “important announcement” for the fans at the screening event.
Psycho-Pass is a psychological action anime series by Production I.G. directed by Naoyoshi SHIOTANI (Blood Series, Ghost in Shell,Elfen Lied) and written by Urobuchi Gen (Fate/Series & Suisei no Gargantia) The story takes place in the future where it is possible to instantaneously measure a person's mental state, personality, and the probability that a person will commit crimes with a device installed on each citizen's body called the Psycho-Pass. It follows members of Unit One of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division and the crimes they investigates.
